Trench foot is a medical condition caused by prolonged exposure of the feet to damp, unsanitary, and cold conditions. It is one of many immersion foot syndromes. The use of the word “trench” in the name of this condition is a reference to trench warfare, mainly associated with World War I. […] If left untreated, trench foot usually results in gangrene, which can cause the need for amputation. (Source: Wikipedia)
For the 33 guro challenge on tumblr! I actually want to try to use the challenge for some historical Hetalia. The idea was that Arthur is a devoted officer in WW1 who had one of his feet amputated so the gangrene doesn’t spread. Here he is waiting to get his bandages changed, being all stiff upper lip british :3
Many thanks to all the amazing people who kept me company during my livestream ;A;
Awesome! This actually reminded me of Forrest Gump when Lieutenant Dan told Forrest and Bubba to 'take good care of your feet' as the first rule (during the war in Vietnam). I always wondered why until someone told me about trench foot. Good history note!
"Oh dear! The poor thing..."This. You my dear, PERFECTION. <3
